Those different universes which we imagine, could well be inhabiting the same space that we are, but as a different reality.
As an example of a different reality think of this. A goldfish in a bowl looks out and sees exactly the same world that we do. But for the goldfish his vision is distorted by the shape of the bowl. Consequently, everything looks blurred and wobbly for our fishy friend as it would for you if you looked through a glass bowl. So the goldfish has a much different picture of reality to you and I, even though he is looking at the exact same thing
Another example. Every day a man walks from his house up the side of a hill and looks back at a church in the valley. He knows it’s a church because he has been looking at it every day for years and that’s what a church looks like.
One day on a whim he walks up the other side of the valley and looks back at where the church should be. Instead of a church, all he can see is this completely different shaped building. Now what the hell is that?
It comes back to the process by which our minds think. Our minds work by using logic. Our selected method of thought process has chosen this one view of reality which we see every day. But that’s not the only view.
